On May 11, 2018, Amazon raised the price of its Amazon Prime Rewards Visa and MasterCard reward card from $99 to $119 and will no longer be as generous. Prime members who choose to cancel can continue to use their Visa card, but the Prime member rewards business is not going away. Amazon will begin its annual Prime Day sale on May 14, the official Prime Day date known as “Prime Day” in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
If you click on the “End Membership” link, you will be taken to a page that asks you if you really want to lose many of the benefits of your Amazon Prime membership. If you have an EBT or Medicaid card, Amazon can offer you a cheaper Prime membership, but there is no limit on the number of months you could be eligible for it. If you have American Express cards, Amex can offer you Amazon Prime for free for three months.
